This should be a crime. My son's trip was paid in full by the due date.

30 days later I received refunds for $200 less than what I originally paid (not including the $6 fee paid for EACH payment). I received letters in the mail the day after my account was credited. I had to call to find out that the reason for the cancellation was because not enough people registered. So, basically you stole $200 from me for something I had no control of.

Wow! This is definitely an eye opener. Now any future school trips are questionable.

I am livid. I will do my due diligence and find reputable programs to send my son with.

Reason of review: Return, Exchange or Cancellation Policy.

Monetary Loss: $198.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

WorldStrides Cons: Being a target of outright theft via my childs school.

When you register it seems you have a choice of purchasing the cancellation insurance, which allows you to cancel up to the last moment and be refunded everything except the cost of the insurance ,the $99 non-refundable deposit, and late fees or handling fees. Without the insurance, you are subject to a refund policy that depends on timeframe to departure. This seems pretty normal for a travel company.

Even if you purchase the trip insurance they rip you and point to the fine print, which is ambiguous, unconscionable and unfair. Everyone feeling ripped off needs to get together and file a class action.

I does say in the information you have to read and sign at the beginning that prices are subject to change due to enrollment and if cancelled, you do not get a full refund unless....and it lists the percentage of refund you would get if you don't get a full refund. Maybe you should read what you're signing before you sign it!

Yes, I am going through an unfortunate experience as well. Trying to receive a refund.

The cruel part is, they are keeping my money from me, that I should be spending on my child. They lie and they give the run around.
